SAS or Body swap?
i have a 1981 yota pickup<-- no motor/st8 axl and a 1988 4Runner<--Daily Driver/IFS.
would it be easier to take my 4runner body/engine/whatever and put it on my
straight axle frame or to take my straight axle out from under there and put it on the 4runner.
i am really leaning towards just slaping my 4runner body and engine on the 1981 frame!
what will i need to do to get this done right? whats the best way to go?
if it is possible to go the body swap route, can some one give me a quick step by step check list of what would need to be done and what parts go where...and what would need to be changed over!

ive got 4 trucks atm. just mixing and matching right now. i want to make one super yota out of what i got. so far the most solid vehicle i own is 88 4runner
it just is ifs. i have the 81 with good frame and suspension/straight axle so i want to swap everything over from 4runner to the 81 frame.
and yes eventually if all goes well i will have the 81 body/bed sitting on the 88 ifs and throw a motor in it for my thrasher vehicle.

sas is about the same amount of work as installing a TG lift on a sa truck......sas the 88 or put a motor in the 81 body swap sounds like a PITA suspension mods are a breeze if you can cut, weld, and grind

thats the problem for me right now. i dont personally know how to do any fab work. and i dont know anybody that can help me out, and the shops around here are all mall cruiser mobile makers, there is not many 4x4 dedicated shops and the few that are all are pricey as hell cuz they juice all the college kids and rich folk around here.
i know i know blah blah blah. so depressing...i need to go jump my yota and get a perma grin attached to my face.
