Lubricating 4x4 stuff?!?!

I just bought my 4x4 about 3 weeks ago. It's in excellent condition, but here's what i want to do: I'd like to lubricate everything in the drivetrain that I can. What all should I lubricate? What kinda grease/ fluid should I use? I've already changed MTF for the tranny & transfer case. What about the diff's? & I'd also like to lube the axles, hubs, propellor shaft, rear drive shaft, etc. Detailed help would be greatly appreciated, as this is my first ever 4x4.

The search button is your friend. Also, the factory service manual is the very first sticky on this forum, so you should download and use it. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...l-link-131168/

Get a grease gun, some molybdenum/lithium grease, inject it into the zerk fittings on the cardan and spider joints. Get some 80W-90 gear oil and drain the diffs then fill them. All of the detailed help you could want is in the factory service manual linked above.

Yup. Download the FSM to a disc and go to Kinkos to have it printed up front and back and bound (binded?) into a book. That thing right there will save you lots and lots of time. Most of the stuff you'll be getting into is covered in the FSM.

1) Get yourself a manual.
2) Please, for the love of PETE, use the search button or post in the "newbie section."
3) If I may ask, what does your screen name numbers mean? Just curious...

Thanks guys! I'll use "search" & I'll print that FSM & keep it in my truck. As you guys have already noticed, all of my questions are pretty basic! The #'s in my username mean nothing at all! I hate cheesy usernames, so I just conglomerated various #'s in my life- now I just use this # combo for alot of different usernames/ logins!

It is a sin to have just a number for a username, but did you mean his SSN (social security number), turboboost?

Up in Canada it's called a SIN. (Social Insurance Number).

516 is Montana (state of issuance), if it is a SSN.

So wait, if the first 3 numbers are the state, that only allows 999,999 people to get SSNs per state. And that doesn't even count the illegals! lol

Montana gets two (516 and 517), other states get more. Afterall, there are 999 combinations and only 50 states.
