How do I get the new CV joint in?
I'm replacing the cv joint on the driver side of my 93 yoder. With some pounding the old one came out. I got the shaft of the new cv slid all the way in but I cannot figure out how to slide the top over the bolts. I've looked at some threads but from what I've seen everybody replaces ball joints at the same time. Is there any way to get this damn thing on without taking everything apart???
Also, is it pretty normal for the 3.0 to stumble pretty good when started cold? I put new cap, rotor, plugs, wires, air filter on it to find I had wasted my money. The engine has 200k on it assuming it hasn't been replaced.

You could also do the "Quick Change CV mod" This makes changing them really easy...
Knock out the studs and either replace them with the same size grade 8 hardware or grind the splines off the studs and re-use.
But it can be done the way it is, just a big PIA!

have you tried removing the bolt and separating the lower ball joint and spindle ? i may be be wrong but if i remember right on a t 100 the ball joint had grove for the bolt to go threw ,and it was designed to come apart. i don't know if it the same on your truck.

In regards to the stumble when cold try disconnecting the vacuum line going to the EGR valve. Plug the line with a golf tee or screw. On my toyotas in the past it has gotten rid of the stumble.
Best of luck!
