Heli Coil usage
Does anyone have issues using heli coil on their engines? Wanted to get some input to see if I should just re use my 1982 22r head or search for a new one.
I pulled my motor apart and found out that two of exhaust studs in the head have been heli coiled. Ive heard that Heli coil is stronger than original threads. Me personally I don’t like any sort of modifications like this done. But then again im not a mechanic.

I had a couple of mine done after I had my LCE header put on because it kept coming loose.
It's stayed very strong, no leaks and it's been almost 2 years.

Damn
Southern Engineering at its finest.
I didn’t realize this was so common. Good I was hoping to be able to re-use my early 22r head. They seem a little harder to find than the 22r-re.
