Best Battery???Please help!

Guys,
Whats the best battery? I'm looking at a red top optima, and also the high end interstate is not a bad option. I have never used optima before, but i am leaning towards it. Let me know your opinions!

Thanks
Woody

I sell Optimas all the time at work. They're great as long as you don't overload them.

I don't have a light bar or a huge stereo or a winch so I don't think I would overload it. I just want it to be reliable and start when I want it to !

I run Sears Diehard Platinum Batteries in my street rods, customs and truck. They always perform and I have never had any problems with them.

I like my yellow top, but its not amazing or anything.

But its small, and its an AGM. So upside down right side up, whatever, And you can safely have them in the cab. I have two yellows in my yota. One in front and one behind the passenger seat. But I think any AGM will do that. Doesn't have to be an optima.

Go cheap-if you don't have tons of accessories and your charging system works you don't need an Optima, Odyssey, top of the line type. Send the $$ you save on a AAA membership.

I see that you're in Nevada, doesn't the climate there eat batteries in just a couple of years anyway?

I had great luck with my first yellow top. Got about 6 years life out of it. Bought my second one last winter, all is well.

My mom got a ridiculous 10 years out of a Diehard gold.

Red face

For what it is worth I have had great luck with Deka Battery seconds if I have time to go get them.

If not I go with Interstate Megatron batteries with good luck. Right down the street.

I am rough on batteries so I don`t complain if they fail. I always get the highest CCA to be had.

As I have 5 street legal vehicles and another 4 or 5 projects it is not uncommon for me to buy 2 or 3 new batteries.

Then some people love the Walmart batteries.

Went down to the local parts store where they had all three. Optima red, yellow, megatron 2.

I decided to go with the megatron 2. 75 month full replacement warranty, and about 1/2 the price of the yellow.

Thanks for your input guys,
Woody
