Low tire pressure warning light

I was driving off road yesterday near Liebre Mountain when the tire pressure warning light came on. The driving had been pretty uneventful aside from a little ice and mud sections..... I didn't have a reason to think that the tire pressure would be dropping. My only thought is that the cold air temperature (29 deg. F) caused the tire pressure to drop slightly triggering the light. Just after getting back on the 5 to go home, the light went off. I assumed it was from the tire pressure increasing from the friction heat of driving at speed.... Has this happened to anyone else?
