What brand rack was it? I like it, looks really good, but I'm not sure I could drill the holes in the top, scary stuff. I want a rack also and have been saving fundage.

Also, what the heck is a "IACV". I thought I had been hanging around here long enough to know all the acronyms. Guess not.

Very cool. I love it.....
Yall don't be scared...its only fiberglass, its easy to repair. The plus side is that your top would get a new paint job...lol

Shoot,if I remember correctly its the Idle Air Control Valve. When your engine is cold the valve sits open, allowing more air though, hence the higher idle. As it warms up it closes, bringing you to your normal idle. When I first picked up my 4Runner, it idled rough for a couple minutes (low) then would run fine as it warmed up. I adjusted it, now it starts up and goes to 1400-1500 rpm, and warms up and drops to 750.

P.S. Ricky, sorry for the threadjack, hope you get it all fixed up soon.

Did you ever find a deflector? I might head down later this week to my favorite toyota trolling grounds to see if they have some Aisin hubs, I will keep my eye out for a deflector.

At least you won't be so nervous about drilling this time!

It's a Garvin Wilderness Rack.

Do you know what size the rivnuts were? What I'm trying to find out specifically, is what grip range I need. Looks like the majority of them are .02-.13", but i have a hard time believing that the top is that thin...

Cool, looks really nice. Good install.

Have you considered a marine plug for the lights, would make it so if you ever wanted to remove them and put them back on you'd have the plug with screw on cover. Just a thought.
