I just did my 90 4x4 22re. I just took out the green rubber 194s and put fresh 194 bulbs. Now the dash looks like a dull white or a gold tint. Now I can turn up the llumination switch. I can see the dash ALOT better.

At first, because I'm all thumbs. I was worried about taking the dash. Yet from start to finish it took only about two hours. And now if the cup holder breaks(flimsy plastic). I can buy it and do it myself.

I'm probably missing something because I don't see how you used 194s for the PIAA lights either...don't those take H3 bulbs??
Actually, I'm mistaken the dash lights are #74 but I'm still wondering how you put the 194's in the PIAA and corners, looks nice though

I think i'm going to go for the Blue, how hard is it to take out the gauge cluster and is there a right up for it?

Also, I noticed that online those LEDs (#74 and #194) are pretty expensive...like $16-$20 for two...thats a lot, I think...Does anyone know where I can get them for cheaper...

And my PIAA's are the 525 series and Use a H4 bulb (Hi/Low) and they have a #194 socket in the bottome half of the reflector for a "running" light

Well I don't know where your looking but at superbrightleds.com the #194's that i used are $2.99 each, (+$0.75 for Blue, +$0.95 for White)

Here's the Link> http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html

if you scuff up the led you make the light spread better at the cost of making them slightly dimmer. It makes the more milky.

As for the Coners they just plug into the #194 socket!! Your corners don't use a #194 Bulb???

would this still work on a 3rd gen gauge cluster with the digital odometer?

edit: and what # bulbs are the limited's climate control? The button 'lights' indicating that auto is on, deforst, etc. are already (I think) surface mount LEDs. This is where the 'trust me i'm an engineer' part of my sig comes in. the joys of being an EE.

Can the #74 lights go in my 91? Both the center console and the tachs are dim green. I want bright blue, that'd be sick.

i ordered the leds from superbrightleds.com and there the 5 led bulbs. the way they build these leds suppost to give more lights to the side.

{5-LED super wide angle 194/168 wedge base bulbs
4 radially mounted 3mm LEDs emit most of the light from the sides of the bulbs
1 High Flux LED emits from the end of the bulbs - non-polarized bulbs }

they work really well as you can see from the picture... plus they shipped if fast and there pricing is great!!
