crap, just read the whole thread. doesnt sound like my issue as my noise is an electronic kind of whirring and it was about 60* here in raleigh, nc.

Update: I took it to the dealership where they repacked the bearings and replaced the seals, the lubricated the bushing. A thousand miles of nasty storm weather later and I haven't heard a single noise. Might be worth a shot if you're getting the same set of symptoms I did. Of course, my O/D OFF light did start flashing for a bit on the way home, but that's for a different thread.

I have the same noise coming from my front right as well. My daily driver is a 91 4wd with 280,630 on the original 22-re motor. The noise started last night and has been on my mind since then. I just moved up to the snow from the desert and the temp has been in the 20's and teens with almost 3 feet of powder in my driveway. Well THX for all the input on this topic. Oh yeah my plan is to keep driving the out of it!!!!
