Transmission Compatibility ?!? Please help!?
Hey Friends,
i've been searching this site without success so i decided to post. i have a 1980 pickup 4X4 with the 20r. it has about half a million KM on it so i decieded to pick up a donor truck with a 22r. the donor truck was a 86 2WD reg box pickup with half the miles mine has. now i know the 5speed that the 22r has is useless to me (RWD not 4X4) but a guy contacted me about my add asking if the 5speed would work on his 92' 3.0 2WD pick up?!?!? i feel like it should but even my toyota mechanic friends are unsure because they've never done the swap?!?! Anyone have some insight?!?

You want to put an 86 4cyl 2wd trans on a 92 v6 2wd?
Nope. Won't be a straight bolt up.
I believe there are bell housing adapters out there (advance adapters comes to mind) but it's not worth it, IMO.
