tps adjustment

I am having a hard time figuring out how to readjust my tps. I have done searches and cannot find exact directions for my throttle. 3.0 6 cyl 91 4runner. Please help as I am idling tween 100and 300 rpm slow at idle in park/neutral and in gear. Btw I went to a new cat, cherrybomb turbo 2 and 2.25 pipe. -200$ parts and labor Much nicer sound and flow. I usually hit a half tank mark with around 100-120 miles depending on conditions I hit 130 with mixed conditions. with old plugs. I just changed them and found no probs with the plug condition. Whew! also how do you adjust the little plunger valve thing:pat: that stops the throttle at let off? thanks I have searched ...

This is the link that worked for me. I used the adjustment advise at the very end. Good luck.

I used the adjustment advice at the end and it worked really well. My resistance reading was higher than 2.3k but it still worked.

I just installed a new TPS in my 94 3.0 truck. I couldn't get the exact values in ohms as in the 4crawler link. I instead went with the factory service manual instruction of no continuity with 80mm feeler and continuity with 50mm feeler with multimeter connected as described. My idle doesn't change when I jump the diagnostic terminals with engine running, but the timing does changes approx. 3 degrees with terminal jumped/not jumped. It is timed dead on at 10 deg. jumped at idle and runs smooth. Any thoughts?

I had to go off the service manual too because I couldnt get the <200 reading.. it was either continuity or no continuity. Thought it was my multimeter so I bought a nice one. No difference in readings. My 3.0 behaves the same as yours-

Thanks for the reply MRunner, I guess it's adjusted as it should be everything seems fine otherwise, same with yours? I went back and tried adjusting again, same result, I gave up and figured it's about as good as it's going to get. I had the same problem with old TPS, which is why I bought a new one, money down the drain!
