Toughin' Up IFS 88 T4R

Whats avaible out there to strenthen up IFS? I spent whole summer pretty much restoring a 88 4Runner that I got for a unreal price. I don't have the cash for a SAS at the moment. I've searched and searched some more and nothing usefull is coming up. What would you guys suggest and what kind of experinces have you had?

Its a pretty good IFS in stock form. Even one of the 4 wheel magazines praised it for being one of the few that can handle 37's. Now while thats not entierly true.. it is very stout, with the CV's being what brake most often. Now if you dont have the $$ for a SAS right now you dont have the cash for the upgraded CV's either. They use porshe CV's, and $$ is an underestimate.

If your not lifted dont worry about it. I have 35's on mine and when I go on long trips I carry a spare CV, otherwise I dont even worry.

Nope, it certainly isnt a common break, but from reading around here the last few years its still the most common break. But its not enough to worry about generally with anything 33 and under, really 35 and under open. The guys who are locked have a little more to worry about. I certainly dont wheel any different becuase of them, just when I am many many many miles from home I have a spare in camp. I figure its probally all that will break.
