I have aftermarket torsion bars on my truck and their wound up pretty tight, it sucks when I o offroading because they dont really budge, its like having no suspension how can I make them losser, and lower the ride height a little without using that adjusting not thats located in the rear because it wont budge. Any advice will help

Yeah, x2 what red said. Some times they're tightened on there really good. When I had my after market torsion bars on, I had to use a impact to loosen em up a little bit.

 

I am a solid axle guy my self but I think there is a lock nut and the adjuster. good luck and put some musle in to it

Oh ya have and alignment shop abjust and align. IFS can eat tires if out of alignment.

 

You do know that the truck must be jacked up and the weight taken off the front tires, ie. off the ground. Otherwise there will be pressure on the rear anchors and you cannot get the bolts to turn, and you run the risk of injuring yourslef very bad if the bolt breaks!!

NO lock nut on your truck. 'Yota redesinged the rear anchor in '91. You only need to place a socket on the bolt head and turn. The "nut" is sleeved and should not turn as you turn the bolt.

You need to get the weight off the front end to be able to adjust it. Also that bolt tends to rust and freeze up, use some penetrating oil and don't be overly surprised if it snaps. Get a new one if it does, they aren't expensive and your local Toyota dealer should stock them.

Also, Heavy duty torsion bars will actually make it ride softer at a higher ride height than cranked up stockers - at least mine did, I think mine are the NWOR torsion bars, but they might be Downey, I can't remember.
