Top end noise
I have a 1994 Toyota Pickup with a 22re that has just been completely rebuilt and I have had the rocker arms ground and refinished and also put a newcamshaft in and I am still haveing a tapping sound. I’ve had people tell me just to drive it that it’ll be okay just looking for other opinions. Thanks for any advice!

I loosened the valve cover nuts earlier to see if it would change but it had no effect on the noise, everything in the motor is new it was just rebuilt last July with new head cam and rocker arm assembly. But what I thought was weird is the motor in it before this one made the same noise but that was a completely different motor

It's normal. Mine sounds exactly like that with new cam, and valves adjusted cold 7/11. Valves adjusted to 8/12 cold when I first got it back together are just a tad louder than the 7/11 I am running now. Not going any tighter.
Only cleaned the old rocker assembly. Maybe a new rocker assembly might quieten it down some. Mine runs just fine as it is. Tappy is Happy.

Im gonna say just try your valve adjustment once again hot at 7/11(not in the parking lot, though!)
Its most likely the exhaust valves. Being .001” off on .011” is going to sound worse than .001” off on .007”.
