The thing under my bumper..?

I made a new one that is only in the center. Allows for better approach while still covering the front. Any time you modify the front by adding or changing your bumper, it's a good idea to add a tranny cooler if you have an automatic.

When mine got ripped off, I put some expanded metal over the gap that was created. It deflects sticks and all that, but I was supprised how much mud it actually kept off the radiator.
I have a 3" body lift so there was a bunch of open space once it was removed.
Notice the stylish SS hose clamp holding it on at the bottom Bolted on at the top.

For you guys that have removed your lower valance; Have you noticed any difference in your operating temps? I am just wondering if it has any effect on the airflow through the radiator. Besides for the looks, lower valances are usually designed so airflow goes over the hood (or through the radiator) instead of under the vehicle which is "dirtier" aerodynamically speaking. The thoery sounds reasonable, but I am just wondering if the effects of removal are even noticable...

So yeah for one ITS MY BIRTHDAY!!! But i also took off my lower valance today and i think it looks sick. It then inspired me to pull off my skid plate and paint it red with some rust-oleum to match the sky jacker boots. If i can figure out how to format my pictures so that i can post them on here ill put them up tomorrow after i re attach the skid.

I just cut mine up kinda like jay351's truck. It looks a million times better than just removing the valance, and better than having the original on.

Remove it, trim it to fit and use those 2 huge treaded holes on the lower frame crosser to mount your masterpice, keeps the stockish look but give the rad some protection from sticks mostly. I will post some pics of mine.

Well what do you guys think?
This
Vs.

I kind of like it better off, now there is only like two dents in my truck compared to like 20. Haha. It was pretty darn dented. And i would just wheel it till it falls off, but the grill guard is in the way.

No, i like the push bar for the lights.
Im keeping that on till i can get an after market bumper.
If you notice, the previous owner took off the tow hooks to put that on.
So i need to fix that
