Way cool, Alex. It did seem odd to me with as many folks that are running those lockers w/out hassle that you would. Glad the 4wheel folks are being so willing about it. Disappointment is just a drag.

yeah i am happy about it. i am worried that it might have taking a toll on my axle bearings as they seem to have slight bit of slop in them. not up and down but side to side when i move the axle shaft a little and hold the backing plate. if i where to but it in the carrier and bolt it down you would never know. I couldn't tell till i took them off, so. who knows. didn't notice anything bearing wise when i drove it. I hope they can sort it out.

That's too bad, I never heard of any one using one of those until now and look at the results....Alot of people have the Lock-Rite's with no adverse affects, at least you took it to a very reputable company though that will help.

alright so it turns out it was defective piece and that two of the pins got jammed and simply would not move, basically locking it and making a spool. they said they could get me one by friday, but i couldn't live without my truck for that long, so i asked if they could just put my spider gears back in and give me a refund and they said yes. I talked to the manager and he said since i didn't get anything i really wanted he would be able to return the labor. I picked up my third today and got my money back. very happy.

As far as the bearings go, I called the toyota dealership and they had the bearings and they would give me a discount for just bringing them the axle shafts which is handy because they are still out of the truck.

for all the bad things people say about 4WP, sounds like they're taking care of you 100%.
Personally, I've ordered springs and other parts and never had a fitment or function problem like that so hearing what you've posted makes me feel better about considering them in the future (as long as the price is right ).

good luck with it all.

yeah i mean they really wanted to make sure that it worked right. they were willing to set up a ride along where the mechanic that set up the diff was right there in the truck. and they got me basically back to where i was before. I am very pleased.
