is it only on hot days or just when the coolant temp reads warm? I just went through a corrado that would die and sputter on hot days. let it cool for 5 and you could go 5 feet same issue. on cold days ran great and would run like champ. Turned out to be a fuel pump issue(so far its fine even on the 101deg. day) i say check for pressure when it dies if it doesnt have any then replace pump/filter. Oh and BTW the gas station on mian and 15th is always the cheapest and has new tanks with less crap. I watched my gas milage go up and my truck runs way better on it.If you want i can swing by this week and help you out for a bit. LMK

Thanks Russell - if you have a fuel pressure gauge I will definitely take you up on it!
Yes, it seems to only do it on hot days after driving for a while and having to work the engine hard (going uphill, etc). It's actually running quite well until that happens...

Do any of you have suggestions on aftermarket fuel pressure gauges (not a tester) for a good price? I'm thinking fuel pump...possibly. Otherwise, I'm wondering about the ECU suppressing fuel delivery because of some problem. Don't know...just brainstorming. It's kinda new territory for me.

It's a hundred degrees down here all or most of the summer, but ain't had no problem like that.I even had my temp guage move off the middle one time, and it chugged on like nothing was wrong.I wish I lived in a cooler climate!I'll swap paradice with you!

Yep...Arkansas is real nice. You'd like it. I moved here from Memphis almost 15yrs ago and have loved it ever since. The Delta summers= one humid hell....lol. I was used to it when I lived there, but compared to the climate here?...I'll never live there again. To boot, this is a very mild summer we're having here. It's real, real nice. Plus, I've always loved the hills. My youngest years were spent near the Appalachians in Virginia...travelling through them occasionally listening to John Denver (don't laugh!). Fond memories. The Rockies are my favorite, though. You swap with me, I'll swap with TC, and he can go to Memphis...soak up some downhome, Mississippi river culture for a bit. Dere's good muddin' down'ere..hehe!

Oh man, but you'd sooo close to Elvis!
Well, my vehicle won't run at all now. I can smell fuel getting to the system, so the pump does work. The truck just starts and dies, though. Ungh...headache. Got a number of things to track down....fun, fun.

bummer - although in some ways I would prefer that, at least you can troubleshoot it and find something. It's a roll of the dice to know if mine's fixed or not (until you're in the middle of nowhere waiting for the truck to cool down/reset)

New solution.
Get online. Find 1986-1995 toyota pu w/ 22re. Take ARB's and front bumper from 4runner. Take bed off of PU. Put on tube bed/sliders. Instal ARB's. Presto. No more problems.
