Starting problems, new starter

Ok, I just bought an 88 4Runner. Before I bought it the guy said it was having starting trouble. Turn the key and it just clicks. He has replaced the starter, engine ground wire, battery (battery has 860 cranking amps), and the battery wires look new also. So i bought the truck and am now having the same issue. He put two different starters in it so I am doubtful it is the starter. Ignition switch or the ignition relay? What are ya'lls thoughts? Sometimes it will start after a couple turns of the key and other times it takes more.

Edit: If it helps, I had a 87 pickup that had the starter go out once and it would just click at keyturn. With this problem I can hear the starter click but I can also hear a loud click that sounds like it is coming from the passenger kick panel. Starter relay location maybe?

very possibly the starter relay. Almost as to be, it should be right in the middle (right below lip) of the passenger fender

Going to be going out and looking at it tonight. The truck is sitting at my work parking lot and would like to get it cranked and home tonight as I don't feel like having it broken into. Nothing really to steal other than a nice pioneer stereo the previous owner put into it but don't feel like replacing glass. Paid 2700 for the truck and body is perfect, no rust that I can find, interior is perfect except missing the drivers door panel.

So it pretty much has to be the starter relay? Any quick fix to get it running tonight? How much those relays usually go for?

Well, went out there and was ready for the worst. Turned the key and it cranked right up and drove it home.
