As title says; I started working on making some sliders. Got one side cut up and laid out, now I need to do the other side.
What do you guys think so far?

Are they made of stainless? Is that a Miller welder lurking in the background? I just ordered the Arcmaster 185 tig /stick welder, should be here tomorrow. Yep, I like the look of your sliders.

i'm wondering, how is the weight? will that effect the power off-road and the mpg on-road.

Update on sliders!! Not done yet, I'm pretty slow . I have finished the griding (LOTS OF GRIDING)and first coat of paint to slow rust. Next is figuring out supports,(where and how many"3 or 4") here are pics of progress.

Finally finished the sliders. The pics are not the best(bad lighting) I'll try and get some more in the sun light. I went with welding them on. They are very solid. No flex at all!!!

Wow... those look well up to the task. Very unique design.

What materials did you use? Wall thickness, etc.

Three different sizes and shapes. The rectangular tube is 3/16" thick, the round tube is 120 m thick(a little over 1/8"). and the supports are square tube and 1/4" thick. It weights about 40lbs each side.

There must be like zero flex in those suckers. The surface area of your main beams would eliminate and rock hang ups... plus give those boulders something to fear for once.

I really like how you did the whole design with basic hand tools, no need for a bender.

I know I'm far from an expert on the subject, but could the lack of scab plates on the legs be a potential problem?

Other than that, I can't say enough about how much I like the look of these...
