sr5 gauge cluster problems
I am currently having gauge cluster problems! I am trying to do the sr5 gauge cluster swap in a '86 4runner 22re/5 speed. The cluster went in quickly without issues. The problem is that the fuel gauge and the voltmeter do not work as well as the high beam indicator light. When I installed the new gauge I followed the manual instructions. I disconneted the battery and removed the plugs one at a time from the old dlx gauge and installed the new gauge in reverse order. The water temp gauge stuck at first then it stated working just fine. The rest of the gauge is working like it should without issue. Any help would be greatly needed. I have looked through the old postings and have not found a solution to my problem.

I swapped my cluster with an automatic cluster and my fuel gauge did not work, I had to remove it and look at both clusters and trace the "maps" on the back out and swap some wires, not that big of a deal. Did you change the bulb for the indicator, I would suggest that while the cluster is out that you change all the bulbs anyway, I didn't and a month later it was out again to change bulbs.

The gauge came out of a '87 4runner 22re/5 speed. I have checked the color coded wires going to the pin connectors and everything checks out, [correct wire to correct pin location].
