what would be a good material to replace it with? besides anything that absorbs water.. i think you all know why i would do this. on my last wheeling adventure i got a little too friendly with a river and became high-centered in sand . very stuck. no moving myself out. had to be pulled. and while i was so happily sitting in the water i saw the lovely water making home in my nice interior. so i spent a nice day off trying to get my carpet dried. and now im thinking about just pulling it out and not having to worry about mildew smell

I gave up on my carpet, tore it all out and replaced it with 2 large floormats cut out of indoor/outdoor home carpet. If they get too dirty I'll just throw them out and cut new ones. It's mostly a trail truck though. I'm not trying to pick up chicks in it.

I took my seats and stuff outta my interior, and then took the factory Vinyl mat out, tore the insulation that was soaked with muddy water off the back, and bedlined my floorboards, put the mat back in, and thats all.. Now I just take the mat out and hose the floors out..

Herculine it. If I ever get time and a few other projects done I'm going to gut mine and line everything I can then get some rubber matting for a horse trailer and make a cargo mat out of it.
