Any suggestions on what to use to make the sliding rear window on my pickup easier to open and close? Some people say to grease it, but which kind of grease is best to use if that's the case? Sorry if this has been covered. I ran a search using a few different terms, but didn't come up with anything other than power window threads and rear tailgate window threads for 4Runners.

Thanks in advance if anyone has a solution.

often water will fall in the crack and rust the part the raises and closes the window

Try some while lithium grease. Best stuff I have ever used. My catch strap was making noise, but some of that on there, and noise is gone. Also sprayed some on the hinges and a few other parts. They work better than new!

silicone spray lube because of the rubber.

i think the rubber (with age) gets hard and also expands.
try to sand it down, and (like above) lubricate it.

OR buy a new window seal.
i replaced mine in my 1st 2wd truck, and it worked flawlessly.

Thanks guys. I'll try the sanding and silicone spray. If no luck, then I'll just replace the channel seals.
