Show off your swapped in seats!
Gonna be replacing the factory 1piece vinyl bench in my x-cab and was looking around for good ideas. SR5's would be great but are getting harder to find around town. Got me thinking about how many guys here don't even have toyota truck/4runner seats in their rigs and I'd love to see some pics and stories about how creative everyone has been with seat swaps.

here is someone who made the 60/40s in to buckets. I am hoping to do the same soon because like you said the SR5 seats are really hard to find. And this way i can take it to an upholstery shop and get new foam and everything to make them nice and comfy. I think they will end up looking like factory seats when its all done and all for about $100 at the shop I am going to.

Mini-threadjack, but speaking of seats...
Has anyone swapped in heated seats into 1st gen 4Runner, and if so, from what? My friend's late-model Jetta had them, and they were soooo nice, it got me thinking about if it was possible to swap them in. Anyone try it?

MR2 Buckets, they're very nice and particularly good if you're tall. Much more head room now and I'm 6'3"
fronts bolt right in and the rear required a little modification with some stock steel. You Could just drill holes in the floor, but I didn't want to.

I got my out of a 89 Celica (sp?) from pick n pull while they had a sale on seats and they were only $12 each. They bolted right up I just needed a spacer and longer bolt for the back holes.

I put the seats from the Geo tracker I had, engin seized, in my 1990. I had to use the tung from an old lawn tractor trailer,It was like 3" c chanle, to fab one side rail because of the seats are 3" different from the inside to the outside. These suckers sit about three inches higher then stock. That's good and bad. Good for my shortty wife bad for my head.
