Seat belt retractor is locked up
Hey everyone. My son has a 94 Toyota pickup that has a locked up drivers seatbelt retractor. The belt is completely pulled out as far as it will go, just wont go back in. Give it a little tug and there is absolutely no movement in the spool.
I'm sorry that i'm sure this topic has been brought up many times before, and i'm sure it's an easy fix.
I just haven't got to take the cover off and give it a look yet. Just wanted to know if others have had the same problem and the most likely way of fixing it.
Thanks. Jerry.

You just dropped something in the mechanism that's holding it. In my case it was a cherry pit! (and this was a 1974 vehicle, back in the short-lived days of ignition interlock)
You'll need to carefully disassemble it and watch for something to fall out.
