You should convince your wife that she needs side steps to get in. Mine does, so she bought a set of rock sliders for our truck!

And yeah, no roll bar. I'd rather a ladder rack than a roll bar!

ditch the roll bar. you got room on the brush guard for lights and get a light bar too. ditch the fender flares if you'r not gonna run wider tires.

I think the roll bar would look cool with a black spray. As already posted, be sure to give it a serious scuff first though, chrome is hard stuff. I wouldn't worry about the rust factor too much if you use your head about it. That pic of that rusted out box is obviously not typical. The box is rusty all over, looks to me like an ex-salt truck or something. I am from Canada and that isn't even typical for there.

I would think a black roll bar on my truck would look sikk personally. Only if there was a way to make it so the bed wouldn't rust.

Oh ya, I still need to get my front two bearings in my truck. DAMN.

Take it from somebody who's rolled one yota with a cheezy fake crumple bar, and rolled one yota with a real roll bar. They're absolute garbage. I see them and laugh my ass off. Poser bars... I loath them.

Speaking of which, I have a free chrome poser bar (with free 84 bed attached! lol) that I took off the ST2 when I built my tube bed, if anyone's down in my neck of the woods.

Now, I'm not defending these bars, but my Smittybuilt seems to be pretty sturdy. I know it's not attached to the frame, but anyways...

I don't plan on rolling over, but if I do, I won't be relying on the bar.
