Lightbulb Removing key from ignition...

..while the engine is running? I was wondering if anyone has modified theirs to allow this?

Just seems like it'd be sorta handy. I've read of such ignition systems online. My friends Jeep Cherokee's ignition allows this.. but it is just from wear. It has proven handy on several occasions.

Just a thought...

Mine will do that If I start it with my wore-out stock key.

Its fairly easy to do... Just wear out the key

Key on left, was easily removed from the ignition while running... Key on right - Works properly.

Get a remote car starter or a turbo timer if you want it to run without a key in the ignition...

LOL now that would be pretty funny. Better than the crapola I remember on TV.. but I dunno, haven't had cable for a little over 2 years now.

Sounds good, think I am going to go pickup some Hefeweizen and lemons in a minute here.

That is one smoooth key. I have a few "spares" that I had TrueValue grind for me that never worked, I might try and make one...

i had toyota cut me a brand new key with the code off my passenger side lock cylinder. they key works perfectly everywhere and i can still take it out. my actual ignition is worn out.

to whoever said you wont be able to turn off the truck, jsut put a knife in there and turn/ voila!

I don't see why I wouldn't be able to shut it off.. I'm not going to start it up and leave the keys at home while I am wheelin... most of the time I'd leave them in.. just would like the option to remove them.

Why not get one of those keychains that has a little button that you can pop off the rest of the keys, leaving the key in the ignition?

I have a lock set I can sell you! As long as yours are the same as an '87 pickup (which I highly doubt).
