Quick question about bj replacements
Okay, so I need to replace the ball joints on my '93 4x4 p/u and I need to know if I need a special tool, such as a ball joint puller, in order to do the job. My repair manual just says "remove ball joint" without saying something like "..With ball joint puller tool". Im assuming not since it says you need a bj puller for 4runner,t100,tacos, etc. Just need to know so i have the necessary tools to do the job. Thank you!

Yeah you need a puller to remove them from the steering knuckle. Back in the day I had to replace the upper and lower balljoints on my truck after cranking the torsion bars too much! I also destroyed my pitman and idler arms as well. Funny thing-I was at the auto shop on base doing all this, and there was a guy with a 3/4 T Chevy Suburban replacing the balljoints as well. He brought his over to ask how to do it, and I noticed how small the balljoints on the Chevy are compared to the Toyota.
