Just recently installed my LC/BJ lift, and the truck has a raked look...lol! My mechanic cranked the torsion as much as possible and its still raked. It's 15" from the top of the rim to the fender. If I upgrade my torsion bars, would I be able to get more lift out of my front end? Or do they sell spacers that are thicker than 1.5"? Here's a pic for reference?

If you bought thinker torsion bars you should be able to lift it higher

If he cranked the torsion bars down all the way your ride is going to suffer since there is no downward play, only upward. My bars are 23.4mm and they are not cranked all the way down, I do want some up & down motion. Bigger bars are for more weight, not ride height.

A front lift kit would be to get the lower control arms more level at ride height so you get some motion out of it.

Otherwise bags of play sand in the back will bring it down and it will ride better.

IMO, its barely raked to notice. I want my 4runner to have that look because of the stupid rear wheel wells being cut shorter...

Thicker t-bars do not allow you to lift higher. If anything, less, really. They would be WAY stiffer at the same height. They are used if you have a lot of heavy things on the front. ie, plate bumper, winch, full skids.

I have my 91 truck set like this on purpose. Better riding front end, when I load down the back I'm even, and a little better aerodynamics for better mpg (that's why all the new trucks are like that).

I noticed that my LC coils at first had some rake but seemed to settle and level out after a few days. With my spare tire in the back and with my toolbox back there, it actually seems to be lower in the rear than in the front and my front t-bars are not cranked all the way.

I don't know if the springs get "longer" from not being installed in a vehicle with the weight on them or what, but it seems to me that it's not as high as it was when I first got them installed.

Here it is just a few weeks ago after I got my new tires.

I don't know if it's just the angle of the pics, but to me it looks like the rear settled a tad.

Incorrect, he's limited by his droop-stops.

Not necessarily, you wont really notice a harsher ride from more up-travel, you'll notice it from an increased tension on your front suspension.

looks like maybe the aft end will settle allitle.

go out there and throw a spare, loads of tools, a fire extinguiser, a first aid kit and a few sandbags (incase theres ever a flood) in the back!

it'll look the way you want it, and be extra safe at the same time!!! its a win/win

Most people are complaining about their 4Runners' rear ends sagging, but you're complaining that it's too high. hahaha

Drive it for a while, and let the leaf springs settle, then go from there.
