power band on a 22re?
I did some searching and read lots of differing "ideas" on where the powerband is on a 22re.
Where is it? 2200-2500? 2700-2900?? 3000-3500???
Mine tends to pick up at 3100 and really ramp up until 3500 but I've done the supra afm mod and am unsure if it's the new afm or the motor. I'd like to try driving in the powerband to maximize economy but am unsure where it is.
Thanks folks.

here's a little more about that dyno run... as you read, you'll see it's a mildly modified engine. I would expect between 5-10% less from stock and the powerbands moved down about 500 rpms or so.

This was when this motor was fresh. Only 1K miles on it if that.

This is the kind of irresponsible post that just might lead some one down a long steep path of self destructive behavior.
22re's do not, I repeat do not have a power band.
Shame on you all.

The shifter is actually the "noise adjustment lever". All it does is change the amount of noise the 22R makes

Mine really picks up after 2000 and really pulls at 3000. But then again I have a little help with forced induction. But I have heard ( I think from Ted at engine builder) that cruising rpm range is between 2500 and 3000 rpms for the 22r.

Ew.
That dyno really did make me a little sick to my stomach. Thats about what I expected though. Everytime I go from driving the yota to driving the Camaro I feel like I just strapped into the space shuttle.
