PCV on the 3.0

PCV on the 3.0
Checked around and as far as I can tell there is no PCV "valve" per say. There is what looks like a PCV in the driver side valve cover, but it is just basically a nipple with no actual valve, has a hose coming off of it and goes into the intake right before the throttle body.
I have a bad oil consumption problem and a lot of people have told me to check the PCV system. I have also been told to look at the air inlet side, which I think are the two lines coming from the separate air box to left of the main airbox, is that correct?
Going through roughly a quart of oil every 125 miles. I know, I know it is A LOT!! There are no leaks anywhere and no smoke at all coming out the tail pipe. Compression is fine, and there is no oil in the coolant or vice versa. HG recall done by Toyota 10K ago and they put brand new heads on when they did it.
At some point it got Autolite plugs put in it, haven't gotten around to changing them out yet, I know it has nothing to do with the oil consumption, but just wanted to get an opinion on them, are they OK, or are NGK's the way to go here?

HOLY CRAP!! Are you kidding me??!!! Why the hell would they put it there and not on the valve cover that is accessible??
Well luckily I have two pair of long needle nose, one straight and one bent...now what the hell do I do with them? Where is the valve in the back of the valve cover?
But before I even get into that, is it possible that this is causing my oil consumption? I don't want to go through all that trouble if it's not worth it. I would assume a new PCV valve was put it when they pulled it apart for the HG's and new heads....but I guess I shouldn't assume anything.
So is one of those two hoses/pipes that run underneath the plenum the PCV and the other the air intake for the PCV? Is it worth taking the separate air box (not sure what it's called) on the left of the main airbox apart first to see if there is excess oil in it?

Yeah thanks for the welcome.....this engine has been nothing but a pain in the ass, so far. Runs great, except the gallon of oil I have to keep with me, and some other minor BS.
Idles in gear at about 600 RPM and shakes like I'm driving a hot rod or something.
Anyway, any tips on getting this damn PCV out?
