over heating problem

I gotta 22re that over heats when i first go and drive it for a bit then after that it's fine even when I let it idle forever it doesn't over heat. Temp sensor faulty? I had a problem with it not reading so I replaced it with my old one of another engine and the gauge started working again. I also replaced the thermostat cause it was bad. I've heard of a two stage thermostat from the dealership that's suspose to be better than aftermarket in terms of over heating. I also don't have the fan shroud for the radiator but I'm not sure if that'll make any difference. Any input would be greatly appreciated. THANX!

A lot of times overheating under load or highway speed only can be a symptom of a radiator that is starting to clog.

for clogs? not yet maybe I should flush the whole engine out. It was a new motor I put in. I know the guy said it's been sitting around for a year or so. Thanx maybe i'll do that see if it helps.

fan shroud will help a lot with idling and low speed. if you can see crap in the radiator floating, or the coolant is more than a couple years old its worth doing a flush & refilling it.
