Congrats on the new truck. A rod knocking is pretty much a full proof indicator you need to do a full rebuild. You theoretically could pull the head off, drop the pan and just replace the one rod, but probably not the smartest idea in the world.

Engbldr makes some awesome stuff. I ordered a front end kit from them and was very happy. I've heard nothing but good things about them.

First you need to determine what is actually wrong with the engine. Don't assume that a rod has a messed up bearing. It could be wrist pin noise, several rods, or any combination therein. Take the engine out, and apart, and start doing some investigating.

If the rods are toast, you likely have hammered the crank. This will require either a new crank, or a crank turn and over size bearings. It all depends on what it looks like when you get it apart. Again, take it all out and apart, THEN order parts.
