If you POR-15 it you should probably strip the rattle can off and prep the bare metal with metal-ready, then 2 coat with POR-15 per instructions. That stuff works great as long as you do the prep work right. Otherwise, it'll peel off in sheets. i did my frame with it and it looks pretty good....but it does need a top coat if it's in direct sun light.

I noticed you had trouble painting the same areas I did on mine! those are a PITA to get covered well.

Looks good though. I'll have to get some pictures of mine for you to see.
Ya I am going to order the complete engine kit to do the bumpers we did a friends 63 Impala frame and engine with it and put it to the BFH test and it held up real well no marks ,chips or paint flaking off so I am going to try it on the bumpers and like I said if that don't hold up then I will take it to the shop hang it spray it and walk it into the oven

Looks good. Now wash the dang truck.

Saw a 45 Harley the other day at the local gas station. Dude said he had a 42, 43 and a 45. I wish I had taken pictures.

When you do the POR15 you have to have a coating over the top of it, because it's UV sensitive, so it fades and will flake off over time.

i did POR15 on my truck's rear bumper last year. it was shiny for about a week, and got dull very fast.

is that a 45 inch flathead or 1945 knuckle? I have dreams of getting my next bike which will be a 1946 knucklehead

Thanks for the pics, That is a sweet looking pan, My first HD was a 76 shovel that I built out of few budies garages when I was 16, litteraly duct tape, shoe goe, and wire were holding it together. Wish I had never sold it. My funest HD yet was a 91 classic. Retired cop bike, tranny was shot so I put a baker 6 speedin, some local motor cops saw me on it all the time took me under their wing and taught me to actually ride it. I loved it because I did not care if it went down in low speed playing.

Bumper looks great,

Well off to make some money.

Later.

The kit you bought comes with the POR-15 then the Engine Enamel. I would think that the enamel would provide the protection that was mentioned prior.
