I decided now to keep my truck. I had a chance to sell it, but I love it too much and I dont want the payments. Hoping I and ask for assistance on fixing this up. Many thanks to all of you.

I have a manual 4x4 V6 1994 with 119k miles. I like doing preventative maintenance work, but more importantly I love to learn.

When I shift gears, I hear a thug and I fell a shift like the engine moved as I release the clutch. It also feels like the motor is more powerful and the truck shifts to try to keep up with it. Im no genuis, so I need education.

Im open to suggestions where to buy the mounts. My truck is all stock.

I recently did a timing belt change. I've changed my mounts on my Accord, but I had a complete writeup that walked my through. Can I perform this work? Anyone have a step by step write-up. I didn't find one in the mainteance section.

You want to change both engine mounts?

Give Nix99 a call or PM Deathcougar about OEM motor mounts. I haven't seen any walk through instructions but that doesn't mean they aren't there. You can probably use a cherry picker or jack up one side of the motor at a time to swap mounts...

are you sure the motor mounts are the problem?

could it be the T-case mount? i know when mine was bad on my '80 it felt like the motor was gonna do a 180*

T-case mount? Now this is something new. I didnt read anything about this.

I have the FSM, thanks to you and others. However, with my inexperience, as I read it, I only get 60% of the message. So, Im thankful for the input and contribution I get here on the forum.

Again thank you. I have a great jack I will use during each side of the swap.

Now, in the FSM, it does not go into too much detail how to tell if the mounts are bad. Again, I ask, what are the tall tale signs if the mounts need replacing? I thought at 119K miles they would need replacement? Sounds like there are three I will be changing.

mine have 268,837 and are still good I think your fine there check your trans like mentioned

WOW holy! thats alot of miles..now I understand how long these motor mounts can last.

I cant seem to find this T-case mount in the FSM. I looked through all the 1995 Transfer section. Am I in the right section? The reference I see is Engine Rear Mounting under Transfer section. It looks like a four inch U bracket under the transfer. It appears two bolts on each side of the tranfer hold it in place with two small blocks between the transfer and bracket.

Oh, any one chime in how to tell if mounts need replacing?

To check mounts. Easier with an auto but manual works too.

With hood open have someone watch the engine as the driver lets out the clutch with their foot on the brake and gas while in gear.

Engine should not move too much.
Can also use this method too check other driveline mounts.

I checked the Tcase mounts. These appear to be the rubber mounts right underneath the transfer case at the 6'Oclock position. I dont see any cracks and it looks to be in amazingly good shape. All the connections seem to be very tight.

I will try your suggestion Marc. Now this technique I did not come across in FSM.
