Leaky rear seals.. Replace drums too?
Hello all,
Yesterday I found out both sides of the rear axle are leaking. Lots of oil everywhere, probably over a 2 month's period. It looks like good times in replacing those. There are plenty of treads on how to do that.
My question is do I need to replace the brake drums because of the oil contamination? The drums themselves look to be in good shape, still smooth. Can I clean them up with a lot of brake cleaner, or should I have them turned (even though here is no wear requiring it), or is it best to replace them?
Thanks much.
