Just installed a cherry bomb muffler

sooo, did i misinterpret some other things that i have read?
I thought that if you had a free-flowing muffler then there is no back-pressure, resulting in a drop of torque... ? personally, i like the sound of the flowmasters... glasspacks are also appealing to me because of the minimal space they take up...anyways, i just thought from reading some stuff that a lil constriction was good for torque's sake? Ima Newb. Be easy.
btw, sorry i found this thread so late...

Technically no you don't have too but its usually the point of running a glasspack is super reduction in exhaust routing flow restriction. Glasspacks get louder with age, didn't see that mentioned in thread. Getting louder happens as the fiberglass burns/wears out. I'm sure you know there loud, I ran one well into my 40's so not just a kid thing. You're not going to get super performance gains but you will get some, especially if you have other mods. I got tired of noise and now running a flowmaster DBX still louder than other exhaust but sounds really good, IMHO, and less restriction than most other muffle designs. Exhaust routing wasn't mentioned in this post but how it is routed and direction it is pointed at as exhaust exits vehicle will all add to ultimate sound. My wife used to be able to tell when I was coming home from about a mile away just before I swapped out muffler. I personally feel that regardless it you offroad or not having the exhaust routed high and tight to the under carriage with a tight exit from vehicle is important and looks better. If you offroad it prevents damage.
I kinda get a kick out of seeing old post get resurrected. Like that it shows guys are researching there question. Cool to see names that are long gone too.
