installing a 2" PA body lift

I just got my 2" Performance Accessories body lift. I wish I could have gone with 4crawlers kit, but to make a long story short, I need to get it done this week, so I don't really have time to wait for 4crawler's kit.

Anyways, any tips from anyone who has installed the PA kit? Did the kit also require that you do other things such as relocate the radiator, extend steering, extend shifter, etc?

One more thing, I notice that 4crawler's instructions are much more detailed than the PA ones. I'm assuming the process is relatively similar, so should I just follow 4crawler's?

I installed a 3" body lift from PA on my truck. The kits probibly differ from 2nd/3rd gen but heres what was included in my kit.

- lift blocks and new body bolts
- Drop brackets for rad
- Steering extension
- Shifter extensions
- Lift brackets for my front bumper
- Several brackets to extend grounds (didn't need them)
- Red locktite
- Instructions (vauge, but helped)

Everything is pretty darn straightforward in terms of instalation. Their instructions were good enough to get us through the process.
A few things had to be tweaked to fit and work correctly, they left this out of the instructions.

A helpfull tip - Soak all your bolts with pb blaster a few days before you remove them, it will make it MUCH easier!
Get a buddy or two over, get some pizza and beer and giv'r! The extra set of hands will help when it comes time to lift.

Also, if you want to use the shifter extensions, you will need access to a welder. You need to cut your shifter and t-case shifter in a specific spot, weld in the extensions and you might ( I did) have to "adjust" the shifters. We heated and bent my forward and to the left to clear everything. I hit every gear perfect, same with my t-case.

mine doesn't have the steering or shifter extension. I'm hoping it because the 2" doesn't require it.

Hmm. Interesting fact, the monkey at the local parts store ordered a 3" bl kit for a 2nd gen truck. I picked it up and I noticed that it didnt include those parts..

If they don't include it, and there is no mention of it on the instructions, im sure you will be fine.

Is there an inventory slip with it? I would think there should be. I would call them anyway, just to be sure.

Yes. You could just contact performance accessories and ask them if its correct.

It has everything it is supposed to have. I just hope that what it's supposed to have is accurate to what you really need. I think I'm gonna install it either tomorrow or Thursday, so I'll let you all know

Hopefully you have enough slip in the shaft to keep the splines connected safely!

It really cracks me up when people just randomly buy parts and have no idea what the project actually entails

You never HAVE to have anything such as a body lift right now, you want it and when folks crawl my ass about wanting stuff NOW I just tell them flat out to wait or request a refund. Impatience is the mother of all mistakes.

Return that POS PA body lift and wait for 4crawler to get back and do it right.
