KAI32-- The grinding was minimal. Grind off some metal, test-fit the spacer and see if you removed enough material from the A-arm lip, repeat as necessary. Much simpler than you are probably imagining.

Old Man Emu leaf springs bolted directly in. IMHO the best aftermarket springs around for Toyotas.

+1 for OME. Just watch out for clearance between fuel tank pinch weld and spring pack clip bolt head.
See what Defrag and Ruined Adventures put theirs through.

6 years later

Still have the pickup, and still impressed with the OME suspension. Had a little wobble in the front end that was due to out of balacne tires, and replaced the super cheap replacement idler arm with an OE part, no more wobble.

Good to see this. My driver side BJ's grease/dust jacket has now started to leak and I see a little vertical play. Ordering replacements soon.
How was the condition of your upper BJ's compared to the lower ones? Reason I'm asking is I'm on a tight budget. Wanna replace the load-bearing AND obviously bad uppers first, then lowers later.
