Question Help me identify a part

Hi Guys, i've got a 93 4wd pickup with the 22re. I recently did a swap rebuild and broke one of my brake lines connected to what I thought was a pressure equalization valve for the front brakes. I don't have a flair tool, so I brought it to the mechanics shop next door. They bypassed it completely, saying one of the fittings threads were ˟˟˟˟ed on the module. They thought it was an ABS module because it was plumbed into the power steering system? Either way, drove it to my place and had to depress the pedal all the way till it grabbed. I thought they forgot to bleed it, but just tried to bleed it and nothing is coming out from the front right caliper. I've attached the photo of the bypass and the module. Can someone tell me what the ˟˟˟˟ that thing is for and how to fix this properly?

WTF is this thing?

Thanks,
Nick

Had no idea ABS was on a 93? What year did ABS start on the pickups? Was it an option at first or only on SR5s?

Wow, I also didn't believe they had ABS back then, thanks for the info. Also sounds rare and expensive . Can it be bypassed like this?

The Power steering actuated ABS was only 2 wheel ABS, and used a single sensor that used the rear differential ring gear as a tone ring.

By '94, or '95 there was all electric 4 wheel ABS that used tone rings on all 4 wheels.
