Yeah, the O'reilly guy quoted me like 53 bucks! And what sucks is I don't even know why my old one kept blowing the fuse in the first place so If I get the new one, It Might Not Even Work! But its been cold these last couple days, even for Texas, so I might just break down and buy it. Parts are hard to find at the pick and pull....

Well I found the motor for $31, installed it and its running well so far. Still loud as *edit* someone told me that if the wheel gets warped then it will be loud as it spins, nothing to do with the motor. I don't know if that's true or not. But for now, Heat for cold mornings, A/c for the afternoon. Ah South Texas!

I've been referring to this thread while working on my recently purchased '95 4Runner that sat in its previous (also original) owners yard for at least a year. During that time a rat decided to build a nest in the blower (and possibly, but hopefully, not duct system) After vacuuming out my blower I noticed that my fan would only run on high as well. The problem is that when I called the local Toyota dealership this morning for a quote on the resistor- the saleswoman said it was $168.00. Having read that rich87 and uptheyota got theirs for $16, I am curious as to where and would appreciate some insight.

the blower motor at autozone with lifetime warranty is 31.99, just put a new one in my rig and its working great. the fuses on the one above probably kept blowing because the motor was bad. got it fixed just in time for this 105 deg weather.

Blower motor for heater
[QUOTE=Rich87toy;51350320]Ok so heres the deal. blower motor was freakin loud and didnt have the first setting, So I replaced the resistor ($16), then pulled the motor to take it apart and clean it out. Put it back in and it wouldnt turn on, took it out, hooked it straight to the battery to make sure the motor was good, ran super awesome, put it back in the truck, the high setting worked but it kept blowin the heater fuse, thought I should maybe oil it to make it spin more freely, took it out and pulled it apart and this is what Im left with. This time when I pulled it apart the two shims in the red squares fell out and the magnets that were firmly fixed to the wall of the housing came out. QUESTIONS are...Where do the shims go and how are the magnets attached? Time to just buy a new motor? Why did it keep blowing the heater fuse? Note that my radio stays on even without the key turned (read this might matter) and I can hear the relay click on when I run through the settings.
So when you put the motor back into the truck, is there anything that needs to be lined up, other than the motor? I have replaced the motor, but I don't seem to be getting an adequate airflow when I turn the fan on. I was thinking their might be a panel or partition in the HVA box that directs air to the vents, that was not put back into the correct position upon replacement. My friend actually put the motor in place and I did NOT get a chance to look inside of the unit itself.
ANy help out there??
