Gas Cap Door
I went to a junk yard today to find a replacement gas cap door to my 1995 4runner. Well I found one but the lever under the steering wheel would not work and open the door. It would pull out but gas cap door would not open. Is there a way to make that work or is it able to be pryed open without braking stuff. I really need help on this one, it's the only 4runner i could find with the door on it.

well is the cable still connected to the lever under the dash? if not try to expose some of the cable. cut shield back and look for the wire inside.... if the wire is still connected to the lever it most likely broke somewhere. now try going to the inside floor on passenger side. it should run just below the door if i remember correct.. then try to get at the cable and cut the shield back to pull on the wire... if that dont work then the whole dame thing is froze.. cut your way to the backside of the gasdoor to get the little tab to pull back.. u can cut through the front from the outside.. but if its a good fender skin.. they may gat mad..
good luck
