okay, got a new (used) ECU from a used auto parts place, plugged that in, no dice. Got a "scan tool" and got the following. one, two,........three.one, two, .........three. one, two,.........three. and it just kept going. I haven't pulled a plug yet (the ECU got me excited). What should I look for when I pull the plug? see if any gas is squirting it?

I cant read/ make sense of the codes the way you have them, maybe someone else can.

" If the system is normal the light will flash about every 1/2 second. If a fault code is stored, its two digit code will be indicated in its pattern of flashing. For example ,code 21 would be indicated by two flashes ,a pause, and one flash. There will be about a 1-1/2 second pause between the first and second digit of a code. If more than one code is stored, the next will be transmited after a 2-1/2 second pause.Once all the codes have been flashed, the system will wait 4-1/2 seconds and repeat the entire series."

okay, i believe it is a code 21. it would go, flash, flash....flash. then start over. My O2 sensor is unplugged (i am currently re-doing the wiring) since it was chaffed. That shouldn't matter as far as it starting goes.

But if the wiring is messed up, that would cause the EFI fuse to blow which would then cause it not to start...

i just went and soldered the new wireing on. its about 30 degrees in the garage so i my be done tonight. day off tomorrow so I should have some updates. I plant to pull the plugs to see if the injectors are kicking on, and test for power to the cold start injector. Anything else I should check while ive got and extra set of hands (hopefully a friend will stop by)?

btw-the EFI fuse is good ever since I pulled the O2 sensor. I just don't think I would have this big of a problem having it start without an O2 sensor.

wiring is done. taped it all, and put loom on it. Did get it to start. I was going over the basics for the 1000th time and noticed my EFI fuse was blown (imagine that?), replaced the fuse and cranked her over. To my surprise it started (turned over at least) and ran for about three seconds. This has happened about 10 times and it wont idle. it will turn over and more or less drown itself in gas (i say this because once it dies it wont restart, but if i give it about 3-5 minutes it will turn over again). My thinking is that the excess fuel burns off, then the whole process happens over again. I pulled a plug and it was soaked with gas and looked to be dirty (oil?). I have only pulled one so far. Mind you i am still jumping the B+ and Fp. It wont start unless those are jumped, so for some reason the fuel pump still isnt kicking on.
