Mine will run fine, a little high, but without surging once it warms up, but if I get on the freeway, or pretty much go faster than 45, it surges when I come to a stop.
yesterday morning was -37 BEFORE the wind chill if I rememeber right. Ol' girl was tough to start, and the fast idle surged for a while from 1500 to 2000 rpm, but went away after it warmed up. Guess what I'm saying is at -37 degrees (pretty close to the same F or C), if someone stuffed a key in my column and fired me up first thing in the morning when it's cold, I'd be acting a bit funny too!
Yeah, that's pretty chilly. When I worked up at prudhoe bay this last winter one of the days got to like -45F but when the wind is blowing we don't even bother with the ambient. I believe the windchill that day was like -68F. I know it gets freaking cold in Fairbanks too.
Yeah, but I'm wearing shorts.
Yeah, I usually wear shorts down to about 5F but then once I switch to pants for the year, I won't wear shorts till it's about 30F.

Mine was surging before I changed the radiator. I believe I was told it was because either there wasn't enough coolant or there was air in the system...actually probably a combo of those. might want to check that out. The IAC is controlled by the coolant temperature, if you didn't already know.

We haven't had it too cold yet- in the -30Fs for a few days. its been hovering around 0, give or take 10*...
haha..yup..30F is shorts weather.

Hat's off to your choice of trucks and sense of style.
