I just did this on my girlfriends 4runner

You need the INT switch from a 89-95 pickup.
It is held to the turnsignal/wiper switch assembly with 3 screws.
To remove it you need to take apart the wiring clip.

I took the wiring clip apart and switched each wires one at a time...
Quite easy once I figured out you could just unplug each wire and swap it.

Required removal of:

Steering colum cover
Steering wheel
Steering wheel mounting hub

Easy if you have a puller

Sorry ScaryMonster... had to change your title a bit.

If anyone tried to search for a similar answer in the future it would have never been found.

By the way... you do kind of owe everyone who posts in this thread a free beer, since you offered.

Blue Moon? Yuck... It's all about ZiegenBock, Shiner Bock, and St. Arnolds!

I love that song!

There ain't a God**** thing anybody can do about it
You know why?
'Cause we got the bombs, that's why!
Two words: Nuclear in' Weapons
Okay!?
Russia, Germany, Romania
They can have all the Democracy they want
They can have a big Democracy cake walk
Right through the middle of Tienemen Square
And it won't make a lick of difference
Because we got the bombs
Okay!?
John Wayne's not dead
He's frozen!
And as soon as we find a cure for cancer We're gonna thaw out "The Duke"
And he's gonna be pretty pissed off
You know why?
Have you ever taken a cold shower?
Well, multiply that by 15 million times
That's how pissed off "The Duke"'s gonna be
I'm gonna get "The Duke"
And John Cassavetes
And Lee Marvin
And Sam Peckinpah
And a case of whiskey
And drive down to Texas
And-
(Hey, Hey! You know you really are an )
Why don't you just shut-up and sing the song, pal?

I went to the garage and took some pictures of my spare "combo switch" assembly...

The "combo switch" assembly. The front was different on the 4runner I was swapping the wipers too. For this reason I could not just unbolt and bolt this peice up..

Here is the wiper switch, the only part that you need to change over your wipers to INT. This is the non-INT wiper switch, the INT wiper switch will have a circut board attached to it, but it all fits.. IT bolts to the assembly with two gold phillips screws (the two most outer ones).

Peice removed from the assembly, wiring removed from the harness and clip.
To remove the wires from the clip you need a small long flathead screwdriver. I used one about 2mm wide. Go in through the front of the clip (you can see the pins of the wires), you will see a tab under/over each wire, bend this tab in and you can pull the wire out.. I found it easier to have a friend pull the wires out for me as I held the clip and unclipped each wire...

Once you remove each wire from the clip, undo the wiring harness clip (not pictured, keeps the wires neat) and slice open the wiring harness cover and remove the wiper switch from the assembly, this is what you will have..

Here is the assembly again, minus the wiper switch. Note the wiring harness and clip..

If I'm serious for a moment, I have lost sleep over the possibility of McCain-Palin in the White House. That truly frightens me. Palin's views are almost as extreme and misinformed as those of Islamic extremists.

I really hope that come November, Americans realize that the world will be a very frightening place should McCain-Palin win.
