Driveline clunking sound?

I just replaced the rear u-joint on my 93 4x4 pickup. I thought that would have solved my intermitent clucking sound in the driveline. The other joints seem solid. Could it be the steady bearing. It does have alot of play in it.
Thanks

Check the torque on that big nut holding the drive flange to the rear end. It can cause some scary sounds.

I don't know how you "inspected" the other u-joints, but you can't really tell the true condition unless you've pulled the driveshaft down and can manipulate the joints by hand. A seizing u-joint can feel solid with the driveshaft still in place. And, a seizing u-joint can cause clunking.

I will take the shafts out again and check the trasnfer case and rear pinion bolts also. Hopefully its just a seized u-joint. Will keep you posted. Thanks

Do I feel foolish! While under the truck I noticed the right side sway bar link had seperated from the lower A-arm. The sound I was hearing was when the end of the link would slip back in the hole. Sorry for the confusion. Now I have to find a good deal on new links, Thanks
