You CAN if you drain all the coolant out of it and don't let it run for more than several seconds. Try using plain water instead of coolant until you get it running right; that'll save you some trouble.

It looks like my timing is the same as the pics above. See my pics below, crank is at 0*

I do not understand the distributor timing. Here is how it looks inside the cap.

Any ideas?

still sputtering and choking itself to death. I just started it up for a sec with no coolant and it stumbles and smokes a bit then dies! Do I need to reset the ECU? I am out of ideas...

YO,
YOU HAVE PLUGGED THE FUEL RAIL, PRESSURE REGULATOR RETURN LINE INTO THE INTAKE VACUUM PORT! ASK ME HOW I KNOW. EASY MISTAKE TO MAKE WITH ALL THOSE LINES AND UNMARKED LINES UNDER THE INTAKE. I SIPHONED OVER A QUART OF GAS OUT OF MY INTAKE PLUMBING. CANISTER PORT AND THAT RETURN GO TO BOTH OF THE LINES FROM THE TANK. FIX THIS AND IT WILL START.

This might be a long shot - but your injectors could be stuck, but I don't think they would be stuck open. Does it still look like its flooding?
Edit - whoops - wrong thread - delete if you can
