Sounds like it didn't work out as promised. Likely cause with the intake manifold design and small throttle body the VAFM isn't the only bottleneck.

Inverting the voltage is not really difficult. I would thing that getting the calibration right when switching from the AFM to a MAF would be the hard part. Also, the AFM has some switches in it that need to be replicated in the MAF conversion. (Hot wire anemometers are pretty simple.)

Has any got any hard data on HP gains from this on a 22RE or the 3V?
