Blue smoke when letting off the gas(22rte auto)

like the title says....i get smoke when i am slowing down and when i let off the gas.Its blue and smells like oil. The motor has about 2600 miles on it. It goes away if i step on it. no power loss plugs are clean. compression is good and even. its not burning oil of if it is not alot.I have checked it alot and for the amount of smoke i have i cant believe it. the turbo is still pushing 8psi no problems theres a little blow by but there has been from the day i got the truck.

it started friday night and went away for a while but came back and worse.

Don't use his link, just type "blue smoke" into your own search feature.

On my 22RE, I get some blue smoke back off the throttle and especially engine braking while pulling about 25" Hg with high engine RPMs. I'm pretty sure mine is due to valve stem seals letting a bit of oil by under high intake vacuum conditions. Was probably caused by a combination of running synthetic oil and then having the truck down for nearly a year while getting some trandfer case work done (engine not run). Oil burning started after that shutdown time, and this was on about a 3 year old head at the time.

Ultimately I'll get the seals replaced but for now what works quite well for me is a can of that Engine Restore treatment with every oil change. It is just like turning off a valve on the oil leak, put a can in and the blue smoke is almost completely gone.

i replaced the pcv and it helped....I also used some of the oil reatment and its gone now.....or so it seems i will find out soon im going to take it out on the highway and see how it runs cause forsome reason this truck likes it when its on the highway..i will update it tomorrow and let you guys know..i wonder if the valve seals are not seeated or installed wrong(had the head built) that could be the cause of all of this....*Fingers crossed*this will be the end of the smoke

it was a few friends and i who built the motor. we used a new oem crank rods and bearings. my friend looked at it cause i left it in front of his house and the turbo has alot of shaft play and was hitting the housing. still selling it and getting something else. maybe an 85 later down the road but for now i give up

Just out of curiosity, what oil treatment did you use?

Assuming you replied to my post above, I used "Engine Restore treatment" as I noted:

It is the only thing I have found that stops the bit of oil smoke I have and lasts for a full oil change interval.

yea more than 100 percent sure it is your turbo ,it doesn't take much oil to hit the inside the that hot exhaust section on your turbo and smoke like crazy ,mine does it too
