Auto - 5speed conversion. 3.0 v6
1990 4runner v6 4wd. My auto tranny is on its way out and I am pondering doing a 5 speed swap. How difficult is this to do? Does anyone know of a How-To write up that anyone has put together? Are there any conversion kits that would include all the misc parts needed?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Dude.. Really... OP needs to search.
Now, i did the swap, and IMO it was the the single handed best thing i could have ever done to my truck. its fantastic.
this is the only picture, sorry!
Really its an awesome swap, you discover loads of power...
I dont know about what both of you have gearing wise, but my 94 came stock with 4.88s and 31s matchd with the auto. the stock 5 speed came with 4.56's and 31's. I'm overgeared and its fantastic...
i went from 14ish mpg mostly highway to averaging about 18ish mostly highway.... i can pull every hill from my house to canada (about 2 hour drive) on 405->I5 in 5th gear and not downshift once.
3500rpm doing 70 ftw!!!
