I want to install an aftermarket (Auto Meter), oil pressure guage on my 22re. I did some searching but didn't find any definate info. Is there an available hole (other than the stock oil pressure sender), where I can use to mount this guage from? I did some reading that said there is a port behind pass. side motor mount, is this true, and are there any others?

there is a port behind the passenger motor mount it has a plug screwed in it. i put mine where the stock sender was and put the stock one in the other hole because i was woried about the plastic hose geting a hole rubbed in it from the motor mount.

I put my mechanical (sunpro) gauge in the stock sender location.

If you are worried about the plastic tubing getting a hole in it, you can buy one of these http://www.tooldiscounter.com/ItemDi...e&kw=SNPCP8212

it is an electric gauge with a sender that mounts on the engine so you only need to run a wire into the cab.

I just ordered one of these indiglo oil pressure guage kits.

Anyone know offhand there is an unused oil port on the 3VZE I can use so I don't have to remove the stock sender?

I'd prefer an electronic gauge for things like oil and fuel pressure where a hole in the line could spell trouble. They cost more but I think its worth it.

Can anyone verify that the sender threads in the oil gally are 1/8" pipe?

Pretty sure they are standard but get some more input on that and Autometer makes a nice gauge , have used them for years

Am I missing a write up somewhere on here for this or any other gauges? I don't see any. I'm thinking about doing this and want an idea of what I'm getting into.

Above the oil filter.

I just did away with my stock gauge and ran a hard line. More accurate that an electric gauge and there was no need for two oil pressure gauges.

thread is hella old, but i ran a t fitting and screwed both my stock sender and aftermarket gauge into it, both worked fine and read proper pressures.... and the threads in a 22re are 1/8 BSPT not 1/8 standard.

Interesting on my block the stock oil pressure threads are metric I can`t remember just what size.

I have run a mechanical gauge for years with no issues I ran copper tubing inside of rubber hose I have had no problems.

With a mechanical gauge just remember to bleed the line.:jessica:
